Make It Yours
Settings & Customization
Choose your Quick Agent, manage integrations, learn shortcuts, and switch the workspace appearance.
Open Settings
Choose AskTerminal → Settings… or press Command-,. Settings are grouped into General, License, Hooks, and Shortcuts.
General
Choose the Claude Code or Codex engine used by Quick Agent and set its workspace folder. AskTerminal remembers a separate session for each engine so conversations can continue after restart. Clear an engine’s session when you want to begin with fresh context.
License
Use the License tab to view or manage activation. Keep license information private when sharing screenshots or support diagnostics.
Hooks
Install or update hooks for the engines whose approval and session events you want AskTerminal to receive. The status beside each engine shows whether its integration is installed. Choose Uninstall to remove it.
Choose a theme
Open the theme picker from the palette control in the app header. Your choice applies across AskTerminal windows and is remembered automatically.
Available appearances include Dim, Light, Nord, Aqua, Liquid Glass, Coffee, Sunset, Cupcake, Caramellatte, Forest, Dracula, Synthwave, Pastel, Luxury, Lemonade, and Lofi.
Background agent mode
Use the background-agent control in the app header when you want macOS to stay awake during long-running work. Turn it off when unattended sessions are finished so the Mac can return to its normal sleep behavior.
